Error handling
Every step has a failure path. A workflow that dies silently is worse than no workflow.
Retries and backoff
Exponential retry for flaky APIs and provider rate limits.
Logging and alerts
Events go to Slack / Telegram / email — you know about the outage before your client does.
Structured JSON
The LLM returns schema-valid data, not free text. Bad format triggers a retry, not garbage in your database.
Secrets and auth
Keys outside the repo, OAuth wherever possible, token rotation, no passwords in code.
Rate limits and cost control
Queueing, caching and call budgets so the API bill does not grow with traffic.
Docker and self-hosting
